Financial Review Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards 2012

Westpac and Australia’s premier financial newspaper The Australian Financial Review have announced a nation-wide search for Australia’s most inspiring women in leadership. The 100 Women of Influence Awards will recognise the outstanding and inspirational achievements of Australia’s women, across diverse industries and backgrounds.
Attending the recent Awards launch the Prime Minister, the Hon Julia Gillard, MP, said: \"I commend the Financial Review and Westpac for launching the ‘100 Women of Influence Awards’. These Awards are a great opportunity to recognise the amazing achievements of Australian women across a range of fields. We know how important it is for women to have strong role models and I hope these Awards will go on to inspire and encourage more young women to be leaders in their field.\"
In launching the Awards, Westpac Group CEO Gail Kelly said: “As Australia's oldest company, the Westpac Group has a long history of making a positive difference for women. We are delighted to be partnering with AFR in these awards to recognise and celebrate talented women leaders, mentors and role models; women who are achieving change in their local communities, businesses and society more generally.”
The Awards are open to the general public to nominate outstanding and influential women across the corporate, community, arts, philanthropy, public and not-for-profit sectors. There are 10 categories to nominate in, including: Board / management; Diversity; Emerging; Global; Local / Regional; Innovation; Philanthropy; Public Policy; Social Change / Enterprise and Young Leader.
Entries close Friday 27 July if you are nominating somebody else and Friday 17 August for those submitting a self-nomination.
