Two women in business celebrate 30 years of success

07 August 2018

Long-term Ruby members and Westpac Women’s Market supporters Gillian Corban and Amanda Blair are celebrating 30 years together in business. Founded in 1988 their Sydney-based business, Corban and Blair, has now travelled through a number of iterations to reach where it is today, a designer of and producer of bespoke journals, wallets and other customised products. The majority of their production is for corporate customers such as Westpac.

The business is a successful lesson in sustainability, and the co-founders are known for their generosity in talking with and mentoring new and developing business owners, especially women.

Not only do Amanda and Gillian willingly share their lessons around pivoting your business to keep it sustainable, they speak clearly about what it takes to run a business – Gillian says, “It’s like always climbing a mountain.”

The business operators also have first-hand knowledge about producing goods overseas, including in China, as well as identifying opportunities for development.

Westpac Wire has a full profile with Gillian and Amanda along with a video in which they talk about navigating their business through 30 years of success, here.
