Shake it Off – To Reinvent your Personal Brand

I had a conversation this morning about Psycho-Cybernetics the classic book and self-help phenomenon started by Maxwell Maltz in 1960. He was a cosmetic surgeon and came to the conclusion that fixing scars on the outside did not always heal the scars on the inside. I write and speak about personal branding and image. But I do realise that not all that glitters is gold. In the past, I have asked you to consider your reason for establishing a personal brand; to look at any mind blocks you may have and get the appropriate help if needed.
Personal branding in my opinion is about making the most of who you are – changing what you can –and accepting what you can’t change. Learn to identify your positive qualities and project the positive side of you. Often we don’t realise how we come across to other people and for many of us the issue is generally how we feel about ourselves – our self-image. Our self-esteem influences our behaviour, actions, moods and relationships with people.
I was once upon a time a beauty queen – long, long, ago when it wasn’t so un PC – but that doesn’t necessarily mean I am beautiful inside – that I’m still working on. When I talk about image I don’t mean that all that glitters is gold, if we get the outside look right everything will be fine. We still need to work on things like negativity, pessimism and anger – and most of all our own self-doubts and fears.
Perhaps we just need to Shake it Off.

- Shake off impostor syndrome
There is confidence and beauty inside all of us that we can develop to project a positive personal brand image.
