Women retire, on average, with about half the savings of men. In 2006 the average retirement payout was $63,000 for women and $136,000 for men. For a lot of Australian women, that means that the end of their life is spent in poverty. Larke Reimer, the Director of Women's Markets has worked at Westpac for the last 28 years and joins us to talk about the gender gap in Superannuation savings.
