13 March 2013
Fitted for Work, a women’s charity dedicated to transforming the lives of women, has been awarded the $50,000 Mary Reibey Grant for 2013.
The Westpac Foundation and Westpac Women’s Markets have again joined forces following the success of the inaugural 2012 grant program to select an organisation that is tackling issues affecting disadvantaged women in an innovative and entrepreneurial way.
Jane Hunt, Fitted for Work’s CEO, accepted the award at Ruby Connection’s 5th Birthday celebration on the 7th of March, which was held as part of Women’s Markets’ International Women’s Day celebrations.
Fitted for Work will use the grant to fund the development of a new social enterprise business model which will maximise the potential of all women by providing tailored career services.
Westpac Foundation’s Executive Officer, Susan Bannigan, was delighted to award this year’s Mary Reibey Grant to Fitted for Work “We are thrilled to be investing in the development of a number of Fitted for Work’s new services to disadvantaged women. We have watched Fitted for Work’s success and expansion with interest since the Foundation provided its first grant to the organisation in 2007 and look forward to seeing its new plans realised.”
Westpac Foundation and Women’s Markets share a passion for improving the lives of disadvantaged women in Australia.
Women’s Markets Director, Larke Reimer, says of the grant program “the Mary Reibey Grant goes to the heart of what Women’s Markets is about – helping women to be the best they can be. We look forward to supporting the women who have re-entered the workforce thanks to Fitted for Work.”
