Impact100 Sydney grants open for 2019
26 September 2018
100 donations of $1000 are combined to raise $100,000 annually. This is the Impact100 model. Impact100 Sydney is a sub-fund of the Sydney Community Foundation and the 2019 Grant Round is open for nominations. (Nominations close COB 5 October 2018.) Apply here.
This year’s Impact100 Sydney grant will support an eligible not-for-profit to develop and implement practical solutions aimed at reducing violence against children and young people in their own community; to help prevent family violence into the future; and/or to make a positive difference for children and young people who are victims of domestic violence.
Funds are granted to an organisation working in the greater Sydney area and that can have an immediate, real and measurable impact on the lives of people in Sydney.
The 2018 winner was The Australian Literacy & Numeracy Foundation for its Refugee Action Support (RAS) program, which supports the development of English literacy among refugee children and youth.
The program recruits, trains and places pre-service teachers in schools with high numbers of refugee students across Western and South-West Sydney to provide face-to-face learning support for refugee students who are grappling with the demands of the classroom. The program aims to create safe spaces in which young refugees receive support from enthusiastic mentors who can listen, support, encourage and inspire.
