Aussie mums cook to raise awareness for domestic violence
02 March 2016
The statistics on domestic violence are startling. It’s hard to feel unmoved by stories of fear, violence and abuse, which is why the work of Rosie Batty and other heroic frontline workers, bringing this issue out from behind closed doors and supporting women and children in need, is so important.
To get the work done they need financial help and that is why this band of ‘Wellness Women’ - mothers and cooks - has come together to produce an e-book full of recipes for sale with all funds to go to the Luke Batty Foundation.
By buying the cookbook you will help the frontline fight against domestic violence.
43 contributors have each shared one of their family’s favourite wholefood recipes. More than 90 per cent of the recipes are wheat-free, and there are many dairy-free and gluten-free recipes.
Each recipe has been photographed to show you exactly what you are about to create. There is allergen information for each recipe and every meal is covered: from sweet and savoury breakfast ideas; sides and snacks; to 14 dinner recipes and 14 dessert recipes.
From Our Kitchen to Yours e-book is AUD 19.95 and can be purchased here. Aussie Wellness Women are aiming to raise $200,000. It’s an ambitious target and to reach it these health and wellness bloggers are reaching out to their own communities as well as casting the net further to places such as Ruby.
