Join us for lunch with The Hon Julie Bishop, MP
05 February 2016
International Women’s Day is a Ruby and Westpac calendar highlight. This year we’re having a lunch at Barangaroo Reserve in Sydney, with The Hon Julie Bishop MP (above) to give the keynote address.
Julie Bishop is the Minister for Foreign Affairs in Australia's Federal Coalition Government. She is also the Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party and has served as the Member for Curtin in the House of Representatives since 1998.
The lunch, hosted by Westpac CEO Brian Hartzer, will also include guests of the calibre of Ann Sherry, AO, Executive Chariman of Carnival Australia (below left) and the 2015 Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence winner, as well as Michelle Payne (below right), sportsperson, and the first female jockey to win the Melbourne Cup. Both women will join Julie Bishop on a panel to offer their insights into what it is to be women in the public eye.
The venue for this not-to-be-missed networking event and celebration of women, inclusion and diversity is the Cutaway in Barangaroo Reserve on Hickson Road - a magnificent space which will be transformed to sit more than 1000 guests.
The theme of the cutaway lunch will be linked to the history of the Barangaroo area and Barangaroo herself. Barangaroo was a powerful Indigenous woman who played an important role in the early days of colonial Sydney. She was also the wife of Bennelong (a senior man of the Eora Aboriginal nation), after whom Bennelong Reserve - the site of the Sydney Opera House - is named.
Join us for lunch on Wednesday 9th March, 2016; 12.00pm for 12.30pm start until 3.00pm; The Cutaway, Barangaroo Reserve, Hickson Road, Barangaroo (next to 25 Hickson Road) Sydney.
