Westpac Launceston Branch applauded by local community
02 November 2012
Nominated by local customers, the Launceston Branch received the Professional Services Award for their outstanding contribution to the community.
The Professional Services Award was open to all businesses in the professional services sector, such as accounting, finance and legal firms, that provide an exceptional experience for their clients. A panel of independent judges assessed each nominated business based on a set of criteria but particularly focusing on how the business manages to achieve all round business excellence.
Bank Manager Wendy Summers said: \"With over 300 years of combined banking experience in our branch, the quality service provided and the depth of relationships that we have with our customers is envied by our local competitors.
\"Our team is also very community focused. We raise funds each month for various local charities and host morning teas and BBQs at the branch, as well as donate items to charity.
\"We also have several staff involved in community board positions and participating in local service clubs.\"
\"Westpac's Ruby Connection was highlighted as a strength of the branch's nomination, with regular learning series and network evenings hosted at the branch.\"
At the Business Excellence Awards, Wendy was also announced as the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Scholarship winner.
