Ann Sherry has been named Australia's most influential woman. Ann is Executive Chairman of Carnival Australia, the largest cruise ship operator in Australasia and a division of Carnival Corporation & Plc. After joining as CEO in 2007, she has transformed the industry and growth has been in double digits each year since.
Prior to this, Ann was with Westpac for 12 years as CEO Westpac New Zealand, CEO Bank of Melbourne and Group Executive, People and Performance. She was a driver of cultural change, community engagement and customer focus in commercial and retail banking. Before joining Westpac, Ann was First Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Status of Women in Canberra, advising the Prime Minister on policies and programmes to improve the status of women and was Australia's representative to the United Nations forums on human rights and women's rights.
In addition to her executive role, Ann holds several non-executive roles including Sydney Airport, ING Direct (Australia), The Palladium Group, Australian Rugby Union and Cape York Partnerships, Infrastructure Victoria and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia
In 2001, Ann was awarded the Centenary Medal by the Australian Government and in 2004 was awarded an Order of Australia for her contribution to the Australian community. Patrick Allaway has 30 years’ experience in the global finance industry across corporate advisory, capital markets, derivatives, private equity, mergers & acquisitions and strategic planning. Patrick is on the board of David Jones, Woolworths South Africa, Fairfax and Metcash.
Patrick was previously Managing Director of SBC Warburg (Now UBS) Capital Markets and Treasury, based in London and Zurich and a member of a 10 person Global Investment Bank Executive Board. He was Chairman of the Global Sales and Marketing Committee and a member of the Global Market Risk Committee. Patrick had direct responsibility for over 1,000 people in 16 countries.
