When I founded Gutsy Girl in 2012 my core intention was always to empower women and girls to be the heroine of their own story. My story is complex and Gutsy Girl was birthed because I became a mother. Prior to that my self-worth and self-esteem were fractured. Once my daughter came along, those fractures began to heal. Looking into her big brown eyes and seeing how free spirited she was reminded me of a version of myself long ago that I could reconnect with if I gave it to myself. Once I started to dig deeper into my personal heroine story, I came to realise that I was so much more than my old stories of fear and doubt: I had the potential to be a great teacher to the little person I was raising. She needs me at my fullest. She needs to reach her fullest potential and she needs a Mum who is Gutsy. My daughter and I look forward to welcoming you to circle in the month of May to celebrate Mother's Day. From my 2+ years of facilitating women's circles and leading sacred circle leadership programs, I strongly believe that the circle can accelerate our self-knowledge, self-trust and self-awareness. Circle is a space for transformation and healing at all levels The Mother-Daughter Empowerment Circle is suitable for all women in the nurturer role: grandmothers, mothers, aunties, guardians and godmothers. The content taught in the first 2 sessions is suitable for girl age 9-15 years. Future sessions may be split into different age groups. Our circle is inclusive and welcomes women and girls from all cultural, religious, socio-economic backgrounds. Each circle is unique and content and format will vary. You are welcome to attend both circles. In the first 2 circles we will be introduced to the circle format and in each circle we will explore a real life heroine in history. The schedule includes opening circle, meditation, discussion, activities and maybe even a song.
