Join policy makers, researchers, advocates and others concerned with gender equity to hear about the limits of economics. Economics is the prevailing paradigm when discussing policy and our welfare policies also reflect this. For women, this narrative means care work can be undervalued. This also feeds in to women’s lack of confidence about money and in their financial futures and further, women’s relative economic disadvantage. While economic frames can be useful in some contexts, are they overused?
