G(irls)20 is a Canadian based, globally active social enterprise that economically empowers girls and women for impact locally, nationally and internationally. It started in Toronto, travelled to Paris, Mexico City, Russia and is now coming to Sydney. On August 25th and 26th, the Sydney Opera House will host the 5th G(irls)20 Summit.
Designed according to the G(20) mandate and architecture, G(irls)20 brings together one delegate from each G20 country, plus a representative from the European & African Unions, Afghanistan, Pakistan and the MENA region to design solutions that will economically advance girls and women around the world so they can be active in the economic growth and political stability of their country.
Keynote speakers for this year's summit include UN Goodwill Ambassador Hannah Godefa and Australia's G20 Sherpa, Dr Heather Smith. Featured panellists include experts from the OECD, UN Women Australia, The Rockefeller Foundation and key Australian influencers including philanthropist Deanne Weir, Sex Discrimination Commissioner Elizabeth Broderick and Chief of the Australian Army, Lt Gen David Morrison.
