Hijab at work in Westpac

Westpac's Inclusion & Diversity brings religious headwear on board in staff uniforms. Manija Akbari (above), a Westpac employee, spoke about how being able to exercise her religious choice supports her to feel valued.

The new hijab, designed using the corporate colours and logo, will be part the uniform all of which has been designed by Carla Zampatti for the bank. The hijab will be available from April 2017 and offers people a right to exercise their religious choice.

Ainslie van Onselen, Director Inclusion and Diversity and Women's Markets believes the move will support staff to feel more comfortable at work.
